People coming home from behind the walls, especially if they have been there a long time, need a lot of support. First and foremost they need housing and jobs. In addition, they need supportive family and friends, educational opportunities, someone to debrief with and talk to, a drug treatment program or ongoing medical and/or mental health care.
Below we list some organizations, books and media that may be of help to those coming home. We welcome further contributions.

MANY MORE TO COME!!!
These resources can help with immediate needs for individuals. There are also many organizations working to change legislation to make the entire criminal injustice system more equitable and to really help prevent the high level of recidivism.
