Lamar is a young poet.
He has never been incarcerated before.
He writes of missing his beloved girlfriend.
Thoughts
A place where only
you and I exist
is a happy thought.
Holding you tight with
romancing kisses
that fill
every part
of your tender body.
Front to back I explore
every inch inside and out.
A thought of you
is a beautiful thing
in the world I’m in
and all my reality.
You’re always in my mind and
out of this world
is
where you place me
every time I make
love to you.
No matter if I’m far away
thoughts last
forever
You and I
Are everyday thoughts --
That’s why they will always
exist.

Beloved family members and friends are of vital importance to the well-being of people behind bars. They represent not only a connection to the outside world (and reality), but they give them the needed emotional strength to carry on in this unhumane environment.
